What is a Chip Sealer?

What is included in a Chip Sealer Truck?
The chip sealer truck consists of chassis, asphalt tank, gravel tank, asphalt circulating system, conduction oil circulating system, asphalt spray device, gravel spray device, hydraulic system, pneumatic system and control system.
Asphalt & Gravel Tanks
Asphalt Tank:
Used for the storage and insulation of hot asphalt. The conduction oil circulating system ensures operational temperatures within the asphalt tank, asphalt pipe, and spray pipe. The burner utilizes light diesel as its fuel.
Gravel Tank:
Mainly used to store gravel. When the gravel in storage bin is lower than the set level, the lift cylinder begins to lift, rotate the gravel in the storage bin and pour into the hopper so as to realize uninterrupted spray.
Spraying System
Asphalt Spraying System:
- The asphalt spraying device consists of spraying pipes, nozzle assemblies, asphalt inlet and return pipes, spraying pipe lifting mechanism, and spraying pipe folding or telescopic device.
- The asphalt is delivered through the asphalt pump, flowing into the spraying pipe cavity via the asphalt inlet and return pipes. Within the spraying pipe cavity, the asphalt is released or halted by manipulating the nozzle valves in the nozzle assembly. The width of asphalt dispersion is regulated by these nozzle valves, while the amount of spraying is typically managed through the speed of the asphalt pump. Transitioning between open and closed nozzle valves controls the process.
Gravel Spraying System:
- The main body of the crushed stone spreading device is the spreading hopper, which is equipped with material door components, spreading roller components, material door opening adjustment and positioning components, and spreading width extension components on top.
- Spray gravel of different grain diameters, certain width and amount on the working plant according to construction requirement.
Heat Conducting Oil System
Asphalt/Conducting Oil Circulation System：
- Asphalt circulation system: A hydraulic motor powers the asphalt pump, facilitating the circulation of asphalt within the asphalt tank, asphalt group valve, asphalt pipeline, and spray bar. This process maintains uniform temperatures. It ensures a consistent pressure, flow rate, and temperature of asphalt for the asphalt spraying system while in operation.
- Conducting oil circulation system: The heat transfer oil pump is driven by a hydraulic motor to provide thermal energy for the insulation, heating, and preheating of asphalt tanks, asphalt pipelines, and spraying systems.
Hydraulic System
Details:
- The hydraulic system utilizes hydraulic motors and hydraulic cylinders to drive various functional components and achieve different actions.
- Through vehicle power output to drive hydraulic pump and make hydraulic motor to work stably and realize different hydraulic movements, and pump valves are all imported.
Control System
Control System at back of truck:
Easy and reliable: The baffle controls, roller, cleaning and control of nozzle, control of spraying pole and asphalt pump, mode of asphalt spraying and burner, the control of light, air cooler, conducting oil and hopper can be set here.
Control System in the truck:
- Stability & Convenience: can control spraying width, spreading width, heat conducting oil temperature display, the working status display of the heat conduction oil pump and asphalt level, control of hopper, status of working and control mode of asphalt, gravel or synchronization.
- Full-scale monitoring: it has a monitoring screen interface for the rear monitoring lens and a power supply plug.
