What is YLB-series Mobile Continuous Asphalt Mixing Plant?
The YLB-series mobile continuous asphalt mixing plant is a new type of asphalt mixing equipment. It can produce hot-mixed asphalt mixtures with different temperatures, asphalt contents, and aggregate gradations, meeting the requirements of different regions, seasons, and road construction projects.
This machine adopts the drum-type continuous mixing and new process, which has the advantages of simple structure, low manufacturing cost, low energy consumption for heating, and good self-dust removal effect. It is different from LB-series stationary batch asphalt mixing plant.
The machine consists of a feeding system, belt conveyor, combustion system, drum, hot material elevator, asphalt system, mixture storage silo, exhaust device, wheel system, and electrical control system. It has a compact structure and is convenient for towing and site transfer. The machine is driven by electric motors and centrally controlled by an operation cabinet. It has the functions of sequential startup according to process requirements and self-control in case of faults, providing convenient and reliable operation.
What is the Working Process of continuous drum mixing?
YLB-series mobile continuous asphalt mixing equipment adopts drum heating mixing and new technology,
the process flow is specifically as follows:

New aggregates, tailored for the equipment and the project, load into separate hoppers. Hoppers have adjustable material gates and belt feeders powered by variable-speed motors beneath.
At the drum’s front, a combustion heater—coal or oil—is present. Users choose based on their needs or energy. Aggregates heat inside the drum, blending with injected asphalt on the other side.
The mix moves to storage silo via a hot material elevator. Asphalt dosage adjusts with asphalt pump speed changes. Fuel or coal supply control flame and mixture temperature.
Why Choose Continuous Asphalt Mix Plant?
- Each system of the whole machine is made by means of dis-assembly and assembly with an independent chassis, which can be trailed and moved (optional);
- The drum is divided into a drying area and a mixing area. Mineral powder is added in the middle of the drum and directly enters the stirring area to be stirred with asphalt and aggregate, which can reduce the loss of penetration of asphalt and the loss of mineral powder and enhance the quality of the mixture;
- The equipment feeds aggregate and asphalt with a speed-regulating motor, with accurate aggregate gradation and asphalt-aggregate ratio, easy adjustment and good controllability;
- This equipment is subject to centralized control with an electric cabinet, equipped with two control methods of program control and manual control, and it is simple, convenient and reliable to operate;
- The combustion system of this equipment has two ways for users to choose from: fuel oil and fire coal, and it plays a positive role in saving energy and improving economic benefits.
What is included in Hot Drum Asphalt Mixing Plant?
Cold Aggregate Supply System
Main Structure:
Cold Aggregate Supply System consists of several components: cold aggregate hoppers, belt feeders, aggregate belt conveyors, aggregate loading belt conveyors, and powder screw conveyor.
Details:
Varied-sized aggregates, aligned with grading needs, load into hoppers through loaders. Each hopper’s base has adjustable gates for output control. Beneath, belt feeders operate via variable-speed motors for feeding rate control.
Beneath the loading belt, aggregate conveyors transport graded aggregates to the loading belt. This belt conveys materials to the drum’s feeding inlet in the heating zone. A screw conveyor transports mineral powder to the drum’s mixing zone.
Drying and Mixing Drum

Main Structure:
The drying and mixing drum is mainly composed of a drum, roller ring, chain ring, support wheel, idler wheel, end cover, smoke box, driving device, lifting blades, and grid ring, etc. It completes the tasks of heating, drying, and mixing the aggregates.
Details:
Inside the drum, a cone-shaped wind-conducting device separates it into heating and mixing zones. Various lifting blades advance aggregates at different speeds. A grid ring blocks open flames from entering the mix area. The smoke box slows flue gas, aiding dust settling. Mixed material exits the drum and enters the elevator via the smoke box’s lower part.
The drum is supported by a wheel, driven by a sprocket-chain system through a reducer. Lubrication is necessary for all parts. (The chain can auto-tension with a spring.)
Hot Aggregate Elevator System

Details:
The hot material elevator conveys the mixture from drum to storage silo continuously. The feed port is at the smoke box’s bottom, and the discharge port connects to the silo’s upper part. This bucket-type double-chain elevator, driven by an electric motor, ensures stable and reliable operation.
Finished Asphalt Mixture Storage Silo
Details:
The asphalt mix is stored in the finished mixture storage silo. The storage silo consists of a silo cover, silo body, and discharge gate. The silo body is externally covered with 40mm thick rock wool for insulation. It is equipped with a discharge gate at the bottom, controlled by a cylinder. This discharge gate features quick, flexible, safe, and reliable discharge of the material. The entire silo is installed on the silo frame with four hinge shafts. During transportation, it can be detached and placed on a dedicated silo frame attachment. The function of the silo is to collect and store a certain quantity of the mixed material and discharge it onto the transport vehicle.
Dust Collector System
Details:
- It is composed of air ducts, exhaust fans, chimneys, and other components. Its function is to create a certain negative pressure in the drying drum and smoke box, maintain a certain flow velocity of the flue gas, and discharge the exhaust gas.
- In addition to having its own dust removal effect, the asphalt concrete mixing equipment is also designed with four-tube dust collectors, Venturi dust collector, water dust collector and bag dust collectors. Users can choose according to environmental requirements.

Asphalt Supply System

Details:
The asphalt supply system consists of an asphalt heating kettle (optional for users) and asphalt pipelines (equipped with pipeline cleaning device). The asphalt heating kettle is mainly used to heat and maintain the temperature of liquid asphalt. The liquid asphalt, which has been melted, heated, and dehydrated in the asphalt melting tank, is transported to the heating kettle through the inlet pipe. It is heated and kept warm using fast-burning coal (other fuels are also allowed), and the temperature of the asphalt should be maintained between 120°C to 140°C. The asphalt is then sprayed onto the hot aggregate in the mixing area of the drum through the pipeline system. The amount of asphalt sprayed can be adjusted by controlling the speed of the asphalt pump through the variable speed motor.
Control System
Details:
- This equipment is subject to centralized control with an electric cabinet, equipped with two control methods of program control and manual control, and it is simple, convenient and reliable to operate.
- The system is powered by a three-phase 380V, 50Hz AC power supply, and the power transformer has a capacity of no less than 100 kVA. The system is equipped with a AC contactor as the main power switch, ensuring safety and reliability. Current and voltage meters, as well as indicator lights, are provided to display the operating status of the equipment. Each motor is protected against short circuits and overloads by fuses and thermal relays. The control power supply is 220V and is centralized at the control panel. The operation of each motor is controlled by individual start-stop buttons. There is a junction for connecting the generator set. An electronic igniter can be optionally purchased by the user.

Chassis
Details:
- The chassis of this equipment consists of support legs and front and rear wheels. During operation, the support legs are stably placed on the ground. The front and rear wheels are designed as automotive trailer assemblies, equipped with pneumatic braking systems, ensuring safe operation and providing flexibility for easy transportation to different construction sites.
- Types: Stationary or Mobile. Customer could request a stationary YLB-series drum asphalt mixing plant without chassis. We do customization.
